OSCAR ROOFING FAQS
Have any roof related questions? We have the answers! Check these frequently asked questions and contact us if you have additional questions.
I’M READY TO ACCEPT YOUR BID, WHAT’S THE NEXT STEP?
Awesome! Welcome to the Oscar Roofing Family. Send us your signed contract by mail, email or we can swoop by to pick it up. You can also deliver in person at our office. After the contract is signed and submitted, we require 50% of the payment due when the materials are delivered, usually 1-3 days before the project is scheduled to begin.
WHEN WILL MATERIALS FOR THE PROJECT BE DELIVERED?
We are in constant communication with our suppliers, and materials are usually delivered 1-3 days before the start date. We use a crane truck to deliver the shingles, our supplier may also take some driveway space due to roof steepness, power lines, etc. We always coordinate with the homeowner on delivery.
DO I NEED TO BE HOME WHILE YOU REPLACE MY ROOF?
No, you do not need to be home while we replace your roof. But if you are home, it is recommended that you stay inside as our crew is working with heavy machinery and removing debris from your roof.
IS DEBRIS LIKELY TO ENTER MY HOME?
Debris will very rarely enter your home. We instruct our customers to close all windows and avoid opening them until the project is complete.
DO I NEED TO PROTECT THE INSIDE OF MY HOME?
Minor disturbance may be experienced during the project. Please make sure objects hanging on walls are secured before we begin. Make sure all hanging lights are also secure. We are not responsible for objects that may fall inside your home while completing your project.
WILL MY GUTTERS BE CLEANED DURING THE PROJECT?
Yes, we will clean and remove any debris from your gutters that may have accumulated during our work. However, we do not remove current debris that existed before we worked on the roof.
WILL MY ROOF REQUIRE ANY PLYWOOD CHANGES?
Plywood sheathing is inspected before installing any new roof materials. We look for any gaping ¼” or greater, wood rot, water damage, etc. We cannot determine if sheeting is required to be replaced until your roof is open and we remove your old shingles.
IS THE PLYWOOD REPLACEMENT INCLUDED IN MY ESTIMATE?
Roof boards that may need to be replaced are not included in the original estimate because we cannot determine their condition until we remove the old shingles.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY SATELLITE DISH DURING OR AFTER THE INSTALLATION?
We temporarily remove your dish and place it back when the work is finished. The signal should return when we reattach your satellite. If it does not return, please contact your satellite provider for a technician to readjust it.
HOW DOES THE CLEAN UP PROCESS WORK?
Dumpsters are placed in your driveway with wood positioned underneath, protecting the surface of your driveway. Trailers are also regularly used for easier removal.
WILL I BE ABLE TO ACCESS MY DRIVEWAY DURING THE ROOF PROJECT?
It is advisable that you limit your driveway use until we have completed the roof project. Our crews require full access to your driveway during the completion of the project.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WANT TO ADD TO MY ESTIMATE?
Please contact our team as soon as possible and let us know of your existing estimate. We will advise of the next steps depending on what additional items you would like to add to your estimate.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PROJECT GETS DELAYED?
Delays are normally due to weather, and very rarely are there any unforeseen job-related delays, but, we will work hard to reschedule your project according to your schedule. Our project coordinator will be in contact if there are any prospective delays and will work with our customers as soon as possible.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROJECT IS COMPLETED?
Once your project is completed, we do a final walk-through with you and provide the final invoice as well as provide additional information regarding warranties and lien waivers.
